Company Questions

Q: What are your office hours? If I need help when your office is closed, is there a number I can call?

A: Our office hours are Monday – Friday 8AM to 7PM MST (Arizona). At other times and on the weekends, please call our cell phones – 480-862-5381 or 480-862-5375. We manage our own phones (no call centers here!), so when you call, you’ll talk to someone who can actually get you the answers you need.

Product Questions

Q: What is the difference between the Cobra and the Viper Volleyball Net System?

A: The Cobra is our tournament rated system and is meant for anyone who wants more competitive, aggressive play. It’s ideal for families that have children who are playing and will grow more competitive in the future. It is extremely durable and will handle any rough play.

The Cobra volleyball net system comes with 3 official volleyball height settings – men’s (8′), women’s (7′ 4″), junior’s (7′) and height settings for 2 additional fun games – beach/grass tennis and badminton. Want more versatility?  We can add a height setting for pickleball/regular tennis – just ask us.  Play up to 5 games on one system!

The Viper is a lighter weight system meant for more casual family play. Lighter doesn’t mean less durable than the Cobra system.  It’s backed by the same Lifetime Warranty as the Cobra system.  In fact, the poles are virtually indestructible.  The Viper comes with 2 volleyball height settings only – men’s and women’s (unofficial).

Both Cobra and Viper Systems set up quickly on grass or sand without guy wires, pegs, ground plates and spikes.  No burying sand kits ever again.

Q: How much does the Cobra equipment weigh?

A: The Cobra weighs 33 pounds. That includes the poles, pole pads, net, boundary line, stakes, protector cap, heavy duty carry bag that can be checked as luggage on the airlines. The boxed shipment is 36 pounds. The Viper system weighs 29 pounds, and the boxed shipment is 32 pounds.

Q: How do your nets stay up?

A: A little volleyball magic! The engineering of our patented ground anchoring system and Flex Pole Technology combine to produce the only volleyball, beach/grass tennis and badminton equipment that stays up without guy-wires, ropes or heavy steel plates and spikes in the playing zone.

Just hammer the specially engineered ground stakes with a 6 or 8 pound sledge hammer until they are solid in the ground or sand, slide the poles over the stakes, and tighten the net. The poles won’t fall down and the net stays tight.

Q: Can the Cobra or Viper equipment remain set up permanently?

A: Yes – we’ve had customers tell us they’ve left their nets standing through Hurricane Sandy, winters where snow piled as high as the net and summers out in the hot desert sun. We even had customers tell us their nets were left standing for 4 years straight – in Buffalo, NY where the snow was so high they couldn’t see the poles!

But for the longevity of your net, we recommend that you relax the tension on it by loosening the rope clamp and the stretch cords whenever it’s not in use.  It’s simple to tighten the net when you’re ready to play.

Q:  What if my backyard can’t accommodate a regulation size 32 ft. wide net?

A:  For people like yourself who don’t have the space in their backyard for a regulation size net (32 ft.), we order custom nets from our supplier, virtually every day.

To determine the size of the net, we need to know where you are going to position the poles where, at a slight angle away from the court, at 8 ft. (men’s volleyball height), they are not going to hit an obstruction (like a tree, wall, fence, etc.).  We need a minimum of 2 feet from the obstructions to the poles.  We offer as a suggestion 4 feet from each side of the obstructions for a “buffer” zone for the players.  Once you measure the distance between where you will position the poles, we can determine the size net to order.

We can also make a custom boundary line for you at no charged.  Please call us for further details.

Set Up Questions

Q: Do I need to use a sledgehammer?

A: The weight of a 6 or 8 pound steel head sledge hammer will ensure that the stakes are driven in solid in the sand or ground.  Anything lighter weight or different (rubber mallet) won’t work.  The key to the technology is getting rock solid stakes that will not move.  We recommend cutting the handle of the sledge hammer to 22″ to get better leverage.

Q: Won’t the stakes get damaged if I use a sledgehammer?

The system includes a heavy duty steel protector cap that goes over the stakes to protect them from “mushrooming” at the top.

Q: How far do I have to hammer the stakes?

A: Just until the stakes are solid in the ground or sand. This depends on the density of the ground or sand and varies by locale, but on average it’s about 20 – 22 inches.

Q: How difficult is it to get the stakes out of the sand or ground?

A: It is very easy to take the stakes out. All you have to do is tap the stakes at ground or sand level with the sledgehammer, and they’ll slide out easily. Do not hit the top of the stakes, as this can bend the stakes.
