The NVL RAISES PRIZE MONEY, ADDS A BONUS POOL FOR PLAYERS, AND GOES TO SPRING BREAK

Today the National Volleyball League (NVL) announced that it would be raising its prize money and is adding a players bonus pool. The NVL has increased prize money at the first 4 tournaments at Baltimore, Milwaukee, Virginia Beach, and Aspen,CO. to $75,000 each. They have also raised prize money at the East Coast Championship event in Miami Beach to $150,000 and at the West Coast Championship event in Long Beach, CA. also to $150,000. They have also added a $100,000 players bonus pool so that players can be rewarded for playing in the NVL events and can battle all season for The NVL Players Champions Cup. "We wanted to find a way to thank the players for playing on The NVL and for helping the sport grow, said NVL CEO Albert "AL-B" Hannemann. A prize money increase and players bonus pool made perfect sense. We have been able to do these things for the players because The NVL has been very fortunate with finding new sponsors that are signing long term deals that is ultimately helping us guarantee sustainability and success. I am thrilled with the positive response we have received from the players, fans, sponsors, and our investors."   Click for full story   March 2011
